Ungana Kuwasha – uniting to ignite young futures
Ungana Kuwasha is St Pius X College Chatswood’s Lenten Fundraising Initiative, dedicated to supporting the Mary Rice Centre Nairobi. Rooted in the Lenten call to compassion, sacrifice, and service, this initiative invites our community to come together in solidarity, providing life-changing support to children with disabilities and their families in Nairobi’s informal settlements.
The "Why": Fundraising and Advocacy
During Lent, we reflect on our call to serve and support those in need. The Edmund Rice Centre offers education, therapy, and vocational training to children who would otherwise face exclusion due to disability. Our fundraising efforts ensure these children receive the care, dignity, and opportunities they deserve.
Our Targets
As part of the St Pius X College Lenten Appeal, Ungana Kuwasha is committed to supporting the Edmund Rice Centre Nairobi, ensuring children with disabilities receive the education, care, and support they need to thrive. Your generosity can help us reach the following goals:
$2,500 - nourishing young minds
This amount helps subsidise a feeding program for all students, ensuring that every child receives the nutrition they need to learn, grow, and focus on their education.
$5,000 - Providing personalised support
Your support can help fund a support worker for children with disabilities, providing specialised care and assistance to help them develop skills, build confidence, and participate fully in their learning.
$10,000 - Widening Horizons
A contribution at this level will enable the establishment of a new demountable classroom, creating a safe and supportive learning environment for even more children to access quality education.
Every donation, big or small, contributes to real and lasting change. Together, as a College community, we can walk in faith and action, ensuring that hope shines brightly for the children of the Mary Rice Centre.
